Strain Origin
Our Pollock strain has direct lineage to the original specimen Pollock mushroom that was found near Tampa, Florida in the year 1977 by famed mycologist Steven Pollock. Interestingly, this variety wasn’t collected again in the state of Florida for almost half a century. With the collaborative efforts of dedicated mycologists, this strain is now available to all beginner and advanced myconauts to research and explore its wonders.
This strain produces sclerotia, also known as “philospher’s stones” or “magic truffles” in culture.

Spore Features
The spores of Pollock strain (P. tampanensis) are purple-black when printed, but appear somewhat yellowish brown when viewed under a microscope. The spores are rhombic on 4-spored basidia, and purple/black in deposit. They are fairly light spore producers. 
Rarity 
This strain of truffle maker mushrooms was considered extremely rare at one time. Based on genetic testing performed in the last decade, P. tampanensis is now known to be synonymous with the species formerly known as Psilocybe atlantis that was found in Georgia.
