Strain Origin
The variety is originally from central Mexico. It was used in ceremonies by the Mazatapec indigenous people to connect with spirits and the divine as well as to heal their ailments. It holds an especially important significance in the microscopy community as this variety and their spores were the first Psilocybe species to be introduced to the Western world. 
Difficulty
Mazatapec spores are relatively easy to work with. For context, it is slightly more difficult than Golden Teacher, but much easier than Penis Envy or Tidal Wave. Keep in mind that results may vary. No matter your skill-level, there are few strains more rewarding than this.
Spore Features
Spores are dark purple to brownish, sub-ellipsoid on 4-spored basidia. This strain is a moderate-to-high spore producer, and produces very dark prints.
