Strain Origin
This variety was discovered on a mountain top in Ecuador over 3,300ft (1100m) high. It is another classic P. Cubensis variety and is very durable, as proved by its discovery on such a high altitude.  Furthermore, it is known to withstand very low and thin oxygen levels unlike many other types of mushrooms or even other organisms for that matter.  This is a very hardy variety to keep in your collection! 
Difficulty
EQ spores are relatively easy to work with, but are a bit more difficult than that of B+ or Z-strain. However, once the ball is rolling, the Ecuador strain can be an absolute blast to work with.
Spore Features
Spores are dark purple to brownish, sub-ellipsoid on 4-spored basidia. This strain produces a lot of research material, which makes it great for microscopy.
Rarity 
You won’t see the Ecuador strain everywhere. However, it is still relatively common compared to more elusive strains like APE & Blue Meanies, which can be tricky to find in market.

The native peoples of Ecuador are quite familiar with “magic mushrooms” and have used them ceremonially for centuries.
