Strain Origin
African Transkei is one of the rarest, yet most beautiful strains on the market. The creamy-white to beige mushroom was discovered in Durban, South Africa, and has been isolated ever since. Transkei boasts some of the most beautiful traits in the psilocybe universe, with high compound concentration to follow. African Transkei is also a cultural icon, as it is truly one of the only African strains available in the market today. This makes for a fun, yet moderately challenging strain to study under the microscope. Enjoy!
Difficulty
African Transkei is not the easiest strain to work with, but is not very difficult either. While we encourage everyone to try our spores, these are recommended for folks with beginner level of experience at a minimum.
Spore Features
The spores of African Transkei (P. Cubensis) are dark, subellipsoid on 4-spored basidia, and purple/black in deposit. They are moderately heavy spore producers.
