Strain Origin
This strain is a P. cubensis variety discovered at the foothills of the Arenal volcano in the Central American nation of Costa Rica. It has been used by ingenious peoples in that area for centuries, and only in the last 30 years or so has it been popularized in American mycology.
Difficulty
Costa Rica spores are relatively easy to work with. For context, it is slightly more difficult than Golden Teacher, but much easier than Penis Envy or Tidal Wave. Keep in mind that results may vary. No matter your skill-level, there are few strains more rewarding than this.
Spore Features
Spores are dark purple to brownish, sub-ellipsoid on 4-spored basidia. This strain is a moderate-to-high spore producer, and produces very dark prints.
Rarity 
Costa Rica spores are not incredible rare when it comes to their availability. However, it can be tricky to find pure genetics. Many vendors will give you mixed bags, unviable spores, or simply the wrong species all together. We’ve been supplying these since 2008 and have a team of mycologists that ensure every last batch.
